FAQ

Q: What is the dress code?
A: We ask that you wear what you might to school. The Museum can be very cold so you may want to pack a sweater or jacket. We will also be spending a lot of time in the Exhibit so you should wear comfortable shoes. There will be a reception on the second night of both sessions. Save your nicest outfit for the second day.

Q: Is there a conference hotel?
A: There is no conference hotel. Participants must book their own accommodations. We recommend that your lodging is situated near a metro station, preferably near the Blue/Orange/Silver lines, or is less than a 30 minute walk from the Museum (Metro Center area). Don’t forget to look for lodging across the river in Virginia, too. The closest metro station to the Museum is Smithsonian located on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines.

Q: Is there parking at the Museum?
A: No. There is no parking at the Museum. There is paid parking near the Museum, but we recommend you use public transportation. Click here for info on the Metro.

Q: What time does the conference start/end?
A: We will start at 8:45 each morning and end at 5:30. The final day will end at 3:30. We recommend arriving at the Museum each morning between 8:00-8:30.

Q: Which entrance do we use each day?
A: There are two entrances to the Museum. You will enter through the 15th Street entrance each day. The 15th Street entrance faces the Tidal Basin. You will see two sculptures on the 15th Street side.

Q: I’m leaving immediately after the conference from the Museum on the last day. What can I do with my luggage?
A: You may bring your luggage to the Museum on the last day. We will store your luggage on the last day of the conference.

Q: I’m leaving from the Museum on the last day of the conference, but I would like to spend more time in the bookstore or exhibitions. What can I do with  my luggage?
A: You’ll be able to leave your luggage with the Museum’s coat/bag check.

Q: Do I get a certificate for completing Belfer?
